 I can't stress enough the importance of life drawing... It makes you understand shapes, anatomy, gestures, it is good for your drawing skills, it's a place to experiment freely, and also it's a lot of fun!

Here are some of the drawings I made yesterday at the first session after the summerstop. Pastels, 5- and 10 minute sessions.

Today I took my bike and spent 2,5 hours just looking around for the right color combinations and atmosphere. I ended up in Westmaas where I painted this in two hours with watermixable oils. I'm happy with the tonals and the atmosphere, they turned out just the way I wanted them. When you look at it in greytones you can probably see how subtile the transistions are. That, in combination with the right color contrasts, sets the mood.
